Lifestyle Au Pair London to £100 per week

Hi there,

We're looking for a "Lifestyle Au Pair" to help us look after our 3 kids (girl 9 and boys 11 and 12), "Fox Red" Labrador puppy and large house, enjoying with us a great lifestyle.

We live in Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire north of London (only 30 to 45 mins by train). Our home is a large and modern classically designed house on 3 storeys, in a nice area, a good setting located close to all amenities, transport and shopping.

My partner and I both work full-time in London, I'm a Solution Architect, my girlfriend is a Supply Manager and my kids attend local state schools.

As a "Lifestyle Au Pair" you're probably sociable and would be comfortable joining us individually or as a family on outings, and should be out-going, intelligent, attractive, well-dressed and eager to join in. You'd have to be female 16 to 23 probably and either already have a degree or at least good school grades.

I like to cook during the evenings, but you'll be asked to take care of all the other household duties, but my partner and I will help you out as much as we can.

The role is a basic 25 hours per week (Mon to Fri) for £50 per week cash in hand with no other expenses to pay except a mobile phone (which you will have to provide and pay for, though we can provide a SIM card topped-up initially as a one-off with £50). We offer a further £50 per week for education courses locally for which we will ask you to work up to an additional 15 hours overtime during the 7 days in a week, this could be baby or dog sitting or finishing off housework. There may be a bit of ironing to do also, but only about 3 shirts a week.

Your accommodation is a large double bedroom (included free) and all food and bills are paid for by us. We often go out and if you want to come with us, you'll not be asked to pay for anything. We'll ask you to attend college only whilst we don't need cover for the kids, that is, during the times they're at school, 9:30am to 3pm. Our work hours are 6am to 6pm roughly. My kids mum lives about a mile from us and has custody about 50% of the time, and will help you and I organise childcare times and cover. If you can drive that will be a bonus. The role starts on 28th August 2008 or soonest after and will be a month rolling contract which could be for as long as several years if you want that.

The kids love playing in and out, so you'll need to be great with children, like having fun and taking our dog for a walk. If you like shopping as we do, there's one of the largest shopping centres in Europe in Milton Keynes (The Centre MK) about a mile away, or if you prefer charity shops, there's plenty in Bletchley, about 2 miles away by car or bus. Our house is right on the local bus route and colleges are within a mile or two. We live near a picturesque lake which provides a great place to picnic or walk. Milton Keynes (MK) was originally designed for cyclists (called a New Town) and we have a mountain bike you can borrow for journeys around the cycleways. MK offers a great lifestyle, good night life too, with good bars, clubs and plenty of restaurant choices. If you fancy trips to London or Birmingham, we are only 45 minutes by train from either city centre, with off-peak tickets for students quite cheap. All in all MK is a very good and interesting place to live with easy access to the sights of London, without the downside of living in a capital city.
